Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification
Have passed the secondary school exam (SSE) from any school education board recognized by the government of India, state governments or union territories, as well as a Class 10 pass certificate with pass marks in math and English.
Applicants must have read local language up to at least Class 10 from an accredited board. According to the post, the details of the local language are given in the Annexure-III.
In Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and Sikkim, special rules apply regarding local language requirements for participation.

GDS are paid as Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA), which increases by 3 per cent annually if the conditions are met. They are also entitled to dearness allowance on TRCA, as the government of India periodically declares.

Selection process
Applicants will be shortlisted based on the Merit List made up of the system.
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the secondary school exam of Class 10, which will be added to the percentage of accuracy up to 4 December places.

For applicants with grades / marks only, the marks will be obtained by applying a multiplicative factor of 9.5 according to the subject.
Where the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is given, the CGPA will get it by multiplying it by 9.5. If the applicants are the same, the priority will be determined on the basis of: date of birth (older in age), followed by the order of the category: ST trans-female, ST Female, SC trans-female, SC female, OBC trans-female, OBC female, EWS trans-female, EWS female, UR trans-female, UR female, and so on.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS and email on their registered mobile number and email address.
The division/unit head of the division/unit in which the post has been notified will carry out physical verification of the documents.
Upon successful verification, the ‘provisional joining offer’ generated from the system will be issued immediately.

Candidates will have to complete the pre-engagement format within 30 days from the date of the offer of provisional joining, which includes 3 days of fixed basic training and accommodation arrangements (for BPM post).
The final joining order will be issued after receipt of the verification report from the issuing authority and the previous report from the police authority. General information / instructions
Every candidate can register only one. Multiple or duplicate registrations / applications are completely forbidden.
The candidate does not need to attach/upload any documents other than recent photos and signatures along with the application form.
Applications submitted without complete information will be rejected.
All the details like name, date of birth, father’s name and mother’s name should be filled according to the SSC (Class X) marksheet.
Applications with blurry or bad photos/signatures will be rejected.
GDS is not a regular employee of the Department/central government. Their terms of Service fall under the GDS (conduct and engagement) rules, 2020.
GDS has to work at least four hours and at most five hours every day.
GDS cannot be hired after age 65.

A servant should have a source of income for passing other than the allowance from the government.

Candidates elected as BPM will have to arrange a living space at their own expense to run the branch post office.

The department reserves the right to change, cancel or change the number of posts at any time without giving any reason.

Candidates who have previously been removed/necessarily retired from government service/Gramin Dak Sevak have been barred from applying as a penalty.
Inclusion of anyone with elective posts will not be considered.
The applicant selected as GDS should not engage in any activity with any external agency that is detrimental to the business or interest of the post office/IPPB.
No previous experience or service will be considered for selection.
The department will check the authenticity of secondary level marksheets through the API Setu portal/Digi Locker if they are available online.

How to Apply India Post GDS Online Form

Application only in online mode https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement deposit on.
Applications found in any other way will not be considered.
The application process has two parts: (a) one time registration (OTR) and (B) online application form.
For registration, candidates must have their active email ID and mobile number.
Once registered, the same mobile number and email ID will not be used for further registration of any other applicant.

Before one-time registration, keep these things ready: mobile number (must be verified with OTP), Email ID (must be verified with OTP), and information about the year of passing the board and Matriculation (10th) examination.
For one time registration, click the “Candidate Login/Register” button, then click “New candidate registration”.
After registration, a registration number will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
To submit the application, log in using the registration number and password. Fill all the details including personal details, board/educational details, Division selection and post preference in the online application form.

Upload a recent photo (JPG/JPEG format, 30 KB to 100 KB, 320×400 pixels recommended) and signature (JPG/JPEG format, 20 KB to 100 KB, 300×120 pixels recommended).
